Women like closets more than men do. Many women love the idea of having a big closet where they can spread out all their things and organize them just how they want to. Most men, on the other hand, just want a place to hang some of their stuff and probably throw the rest in. This means that when you have a big closet in the master bedroom meant for both the man and woman, you need some good his and her closet ideas to keep the peace.

Newer homes that are being built are more likely to have big walk in closets than older houses. Especially in master bedrooms, big walk in closets are becoming more and more common because of their popularity. This has even created a small industry of companies that will transform your closet into something special.

When a woman sees a big closet, her mind immediately races with all the ways she could fill it up which include buying new things. A man, on the other hand, yawns and thinks to himself “big deal, can I fit a TV in here? ” Ultimately, walk in closets are good for both parties as anything that makes the woman happy indirectly makes the man happier as well.

The bigger your closet the more you are in need of good closet lighting. Some of the walk in closets in master bedrooms are so big that they are almost another room. That one little light on the ceiling of that type of closet just doesn’t do the job. You can bring light in via lamps to this kind of closet or you can install more lights on the ceiling. LED track lighting can be used to highlight your clothes and give your closet a very cool look. If your closet doesn’t have any outlets in it, you may have to go the route where you install lights overhead.

If you have a big closet, you will need to determine how much space each person gets. Usually, 75% of the closet will go to the woman and the man will be left with about 25%. This is because women often have a lot more shoes and clothes than men and they need the extra space. Actually they want the extra space too whether they have more clothes or not. Luckily, men dont usually care about such things and are agreeable to whatever makes their wives happy, at least in the world of closets!
