A wedding is a joyous, but somewhat complicated time. Trying to keep everything straight and get all the planning done can be somewhat overwhelming to the bride and groom. Understanding all the choices they must make is just one of the many major components of getting everything set up for their big day.

The wedding party is one of the main facets of wedding planning. Figuring out who’s who when it comes to the big day should be settled as early as possible, as many of the members of the wedding party will play key roles in the planning process. The Maid or Honor and Best Man should be decided first.

These are the two main players in the wedding festivities and planning process. The Best Man will be responsible for being the Groom’s main helper through every part of the process, from planning the bachelor party to holding the ring the day of the ceremony. The Maid of Honor plays the same crucial role for the bride, planning the bridal shower and keeping the wedding band during the ceremony.

The bridesmaids and groomsmen come next in line in the wedding party. They are part of the wedding entourage, but are not always a part of every wedding party. The more simplistic ceremonies often only feature a maid of honor and best man. There may also be junior bridesmaids and junior groomsmen, which allow the bride and groom to include some younger siblings in the wedding party.

The flower girl is a favorite in wedding ceremonies, as she walks the aisle before the wedding party and scatters rose petals. Another adorable member of the party is the ring bearer. There are many other members of the wedding party, including the father and mother of the bride, the father and mother of the groom, and of course the officiant or minister.
