Category: Sleep Snoring — Author: Marley Smith

It is quite natural for humans to snore and every person snores some or the other time. But, snoring is not good for health if it has a negative effect on the length of your sleep and its quality. This affects the lifestyle of the person and it can cause many health problems, tiredness and irritability.

Many people are of the opinion that no permanent treatment for snoring exists, but others believe that a few treatments exist that can tackle it effectively. Treatments for snoring include different types of home-based, medical and surgical treatments, with all of them guaranteeing good results in tackling this problem.

Choice of a snoring treatment depends on the way in which you snore – whether your mouth remains shut or open while you snore and whether it happens only when you sleep in a certain position. Regular snorers have to use surgical and medicinal treatments but mild and occasional snorers can tackle it by making a few alterations in their lifestyle. These lifestyle alterations can be reducing your weight, avoiding consumption of some kinds of food and hard drinks, keeping your nasal passage clean, sleeping on one side and ensuring that your head is higher than the rest of the body. Category: Beauty — Author: Peter Skonctue

The first day of school, a birthday party, a wedding, a job interview or a date with that special someone: These are all terrible times to suffer from an outbreak in acne. You want to look your best, and part of that is having clean, clear skin. You don’t have the time to go and pick up a prescription medication. So, for people who need to know how to get rid of acne overnight, here are some helpful tips.

First you need to wash your face. Don’t use a harsh cleanser that can irritate your skin even further. A simple wash with warm water and a mild soap is all you need to remove dirt and oil from the surface of your skin.

Follow this with a gentle exfoliation. You don’t need to scour the skin off of your face, you just want to break up and gently remove the dead layer of skin. Too much hard rubbing can cause more irritation which can make your acne worse. A quick and easy exfoliation scrub can be made with a combination of sugar, toothpaste – paste, not gel – and water. Simply mix the three together into a paste, and apply it to your face as you would any cleansing solution. (more…)

Making Your Baby Feel Safe And At Home

Nothing compares to the happiness and joy that the parents feel with the arrival of their baby into their home. And because every nook and cranny in their house is a reflection of themselves, their moods and personality, the baby’s room should ultimately be an expression of the delight a child brings to them.

With this in mind, contemplating on the design and decoration of your baby’s room entails a lot of preparation and right choices. Below are some helpful tips to aid you in attaining a beautiful and safe baby room.

Baby-proofing the nursery room

The most important thing to consider first before decorating your baby’s room, is the safety and protection of your child in his own abode. Before anything else, you have to make sure to do a thorough safety check. Anti Aging: “The Do It Yourself Tips”

Category: Anti Aging — Author: singaporewriter seo

A lot of people believe that laying out an anti aging therapy is expensive and too troublesome. With these easy drills, starting an anti aging therapy can turn quite an easy feat – and bother-free at that.

How? The fundamentals start with these three things: A good, protein-rich diet, regular exercise, at least eight hours of sleep… and well, relaxation.

Let’s zoom in on relaxation. Reflexology, or the special art of reviving pressure points on your feet, can help reduce stress. And if you are relaxed and stress-free, you will look much, much younger. Contrary to common belief, there are actually ways to relieve tension instantly. One of which is by applying pressure through your thumb into the solar plexus point located right below the ball of your foot. Another tip is elevating your head when you sleep. Adding an excess pillow reduces puffiness around your eyes by draining fluids that normally pool around the eyes. To further your anti aging eye therapy, put a cold tea bag, a refrigerated cucumber or a chilled teaspoon over your eye areas. This will help eliminate puffiness and thus cause you look fresher and more alert.

Another point to consider is to get perked up. Be enthusiastic and continue being lively. Anti aging has to start from within. Droopy eyelids and yawning barely show signs of youth. To have a smooth steady flow of vigor throughout the whole day, try ginseng. It offers a better wake-me-up than the quick jolt offered by caffeine boosts. Also, as the hand is a dead giveaway of one’s age, it is important to heal your hands. Anti aging ranges to your hands too! To rejuvenate them, put on a generous amount of cocoa butter lotion twice a day. (more…)

Things To Consider When Planning To Take A Cosmetic Surgery

Category: Skin Care — Author: Raechelle White

Cosmetic surgery is the art of remolding the appearance of specific body parts by registered surgeons. Usually individuals desire to modify their breast, ears, eyes, face, hair, nose and abdomens. For the breasts, normal cosmetic surgery includes augmenting, reducing or remolding the breasts. Eye surgery includes adjusting drooping upper eyelids or getting rid of puffy bags beneath the eyes. Commonly, facial cosmetic surgery includes getting rid of facial wrinkles, creases and acne scars; or altering the form of the nose. It also includes removing fats from the tummy.

As cosmetic surgery embodies a major decision-making process, it is significant to choose a doctor that you have confidence with. Choose a doctor that has finished at least five years of surgical training and at least 2 years in plastic surgery. Take one who is a developed and knowledgeable surgeon that operates only in licensed aesthetic clinics. Be observant to the doctor’s character and whether he clings to a strict code of ethics. And finally, always see to it that your doctor puts your safety first.

The following checklist can serve as your guide when planning for a cosmetic surgery consultation:

Is the doctor licensed?

Is the doctor knowledgeable and trained specifically in the field of plastic surgery? (more…)

Your Baby’s Einstein Brain

Category: Family — Author: Edie Mindell

A few weeks after conception, your baby’s brain is already on its way to being developed. Several months before child birth, your baby’s brain could already do basic functions. Your role in enhancing your baby’s brain and developing it further starts as soon as child birth and continues throughout his life, or at least until he starts learning on his own.

According to Howard Gardner’s Multiple Intelligence Theory, there are about seven different types of intelligence – linguistic, musical, logical-mathematical, visual-spatial, bodily-kinesthetic, interpersonal, and intrapersonal. Some people can excel in all things involving math while others may have the gift of tongue. How we develop which intelligence would depend on how we were reared as a child.

Toys such as alphabet blocks and story books with large pictures can help your child develop his linguistic intelligence. For toddlers, you can give them toys that talk and say the alphabet and numbers out loud. Your child can them repeat after them. On the other hand, musical intelligence can be enhanced by crib mobiles that come with music as well as baby rattles. These toys give your baby a first-hand experience on how sound is produced. Your visual-spatial intelligence can be enhanced with the use of building blocks or clay. Older children can be given puzzles to solve. You might also want to try handing your child a few drawing tools which they could use to draw what’s on their mind. A trip to a nearby park can also enhance your child’s visual intelligence. Methods Of Removing Body Hair

Category: Self Help — Author: Alexander Lewis

A lot of people have at some point or the other had to face the problem of unwanted hair and have struggled with several techniques for hair removal. The kind of hair removal technique that is best suited for you depends on the area and concentration of hair growth along with your skin type and sensitivity.

The most widely used method of hair removal is shaving. Although shaving is effective and inexpensive, the flip side is that it is only temporary and you have to keep on shaving on a regular basis in order to maintain hair-free skin. For example, men shave their beards every day. Shaving is also popular for getting rid of hair on chest and legs.

Another alternative is waxing hair from the body. It is a messy procedure, which generally cannot conveniently be done at home all by yourself. The advantage of waxing is that the extraction of hair is done from its root and therefore, it doesn’t reappear for around a fortnight, giving you a longer duration of freedom from unwanted hair. However, you should keep in mind that waxing hurts and hence, it is not suitable for sensitive parts. (more…)
