Know More About Yeast Infection In Children

Category: Womens Issues — Author: Lamar S. Johnston

Despite yeast infection being such a common problem, there are only a few who are aware of the fact that yeast infection can exist amidst toddlers and infants too. Several discomforts that are experienced by children are a result of yeast infection itself. Oral thrush, skin rash or diaper rash are some general kinds of yeast infection commonplace in young ones.

There are several causes of yeast infection in toddlers. One of them is the use of antibiotics. Since children have a weak immune system, they are always prone to some or the other sort of sickness. Quite often antibiotics are used to treat assorted diseases.

The antibiotics destroy bacteria indiscriminately including the good with the bad. The annihilation of the good bacteria can leave the growth of yeast unbridled leading to thrush. Additionally, yeast infection. can also be transferred from a mummy to a child if he / she is still being breastfed.

Most times, children contract yeast infection from their mums at the time of their birth. If the mother is suffering from yeast infection in the delivery, she can pass it on to her kid at birth.

Another source of yeast infection among the children is food. Kids have a tendency to eat any and all things because at their age, their tastes are just forming and they’re not really aware of what is to be eaten and what not. They especially like sweet products and such products are the best for yeast to grow. It is extremely important that you control the sugar intake of your child if there is a suspicion of yeast infection.

to ensure that your children don’t get infected by yeast, it is also necessary that you ensure proper hygiene. Make sure that your children clean themselves properly every time they come after playing outdoors. Also make sure that they don’t wear wet clothes for long time. Yeast thrives in a humid condition and therefore leaving your kids in wet garments is a bad idea.

Since toddlers are not immune to yeast infections, it’s only appropriate to provide treatment for them accordingly . Often, it’s best to dispose of the problem at its root. For instance, if your child is a victim of yeast infection brought on by a sugar rich diet, take steps to remove sugar from his daily diet at once .

You shouldn’t use Over The Counter or Homeopathic products to treat yeast infection in child-ren. The reason is simple. The skin of young children is sensitive and would react really bad-ly if you apply OTC products with all their oppressive chemicals.

Ideally, you need to seek the help of a trained doctor or kid expert to deal with acne infection in babies as they’d be able to suggest a more definitive treatment method for the condition regarding the kid’s age.
