Activities to Do While Waiting For Your Baby to Arrive
While pregnancy is not the most comfortable experience, waiting for a baby to finally make their appearance is somewhat torturous. It can be a hassle having to wait for baby to make their appearance that last few weeks of your pregnancy. Here are a few activities you can do your last few weeks of pregnancy to keep your mind busy while you wait for your baby to come:
Clean the house. You will already have a nesting instinct to keep things in order. Cleaning the home makes you feel sane and will keep your mind off of “waiting for the baby” for a little while.
Get out of the house and go shopping for the baby. Buy them a baby sling or baby carrier. This is a good time to buy a baby sling, since you can use them even when the baby is a newborn. Baby slings are especially convenient if you already have another child to keep you busy because you can place your newborn in the baby sling while you get meals or read to your other child.
Go on a date with your husband. Spend one on one time with your other children. Once the baby arrives they will demand a lot of extra attention the first few months. Take advantage of this time to spend time with your family.
4. Take time to pamper yourself. Your new baby is going to be demanding a lot from you, especially in the first few months of his life. Go to a salon and get your nails and hair done. Many day spas offer great prenatal massages too.
Keep a pregnancy journal. Write about your pregnancy and how you spent your days the last few weeks of pregnancy. Waiting for a baby to arrive is an emotional journey, and writing down how you feel can help release stress and worries you may be having.
Find a good book to read. If you don’t know of any good books ask family or friends for recommendations. You can buy a good book to read now, and buy another one for later on when you will spend a lot of time either feeding or rocking your new baby.
7. Exercise. Exercise is good for the baby and good for you. It also releases natural endorphins in your body, which can help with the late-pregnancy moodiness.
